Lake Austin Marina, Ltd.
This property is located on Lake Austin’s prestigious West Bank in the heart of Westlake Hills, approximately three miles, from downtown Austin. Since acquiring the property in 2001 in a partnership with D&D Financial Group in Dallas, the firm has added 45 boat slips. The partnership has also rebuilt a dilapidated ship store with a new permanent facility. The store, in an island theme, is Lake Austin’s only refueling point for the 22 mile lake. Additionally, the office portion of the project was expanded by additional 17,000 square feet. Due to the nature of Lake Austin, new marinas are seldom permitted and Lake Austin Marina remains fully occupied even in the recession of 2008-2010.
Round Rock Imaging
Round Rock Imaging (RRI) is a partnership between Hughes Capital Management, Inc. and several local physicians. Located in the Round Rock Medical Center, RRI opened its doors in January 2003, providing high quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computerized Tomography (CT) services to the Round Rock medical community. RRI was founded on the principles of providing exceptional customer service with a convenient and accessible location. Hughes Capital Management,Inc., is the general partner and provides all management services.
PeopleCare was established in 2004 to provide a wide variety of services to persons with mental disabilities. Mr. Hughes and Mr. Jim Bean had previously owned Habilitation, Inc. After selling Habilitation, Inc., Mr. Bean and Mr. Hughes found an excellent opportunity to re-enter the development disability field with PeopleCare, located in El Paso, Texas.
Affiliates of Hughes Capital Management, Inc. developed and managed 10 outpatient surgery centers in Texas. Hughes Capital Management, Inc. affiliates continue to own the real estate associated with two surgery centers, but have sold the operation of the centers to other operators.
James Casey Garden Medical
In 1992, Lance Hughes and Clay Morgan acquired the James Casey Garden Medical Center. The project consisted of a four-building Planned Unit Development (PUD) located adjacent to the St. David’s Hospital in south Austin. The project has attracted several of Austin’s more notable specialty practice groups, due to its location and immediate adjacent to the hospital.
As the City of Round Rock’s only single-family gated community, Arbor Place is a 119 lot infill property adjacent to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. 2801 Lemmon Avenue
Formerly known as the Key Whitman Building, Mr. Hughes acquired 2801 Lemmon Avenue in 2000. The property is an uptown landmark located at the intersection of East and West Lemmon Avenue and the Central Expressway. The property was designed by Ogilvy Architects and contains 30,000 square feet on four floors, plus 150 parking spaces. This enormous amount of parking is necessary for medical usage.
